Most soils perform better when moist... weeds also thrive on Houston's torrential down pours & heavy rains.

Houston's ideal weed killing conditions occur when emerging ( weed seedlings ) encounter a much drier period - without rooting weeds don't have a chance to survive

Please note: Corn Gluten doesn't control weed seed emergence - your sprinkler system or where your yard soil areas stay wet.

It's only natural over time your 1st application of Corn Gluten will begin to diminish, as it should. So a 2nd application is recommended before the extreme heat of summer.

Keep in mind weeds tend to germinate in the fall, a post application at the end of summer would be beneficial under good Houston weather conditions.
